Bats (Chiroptera) from the Caquetá department - Colombia

Abstract (en):

departamento de Caquetá cubre un área total aproximada de 88.965 km2, ubicada entre los 2º 58 ́N-0o 4 ́S y 71º 30 ́-76º 15 ́O, extendiéndose en un gradiente altitudinaldesde los 140 hasta los 2800 msnm en la cumbre de la cordillera oriental, por esta razon, presenta una diversidad única donde se mezclan los componentes amazónicos,andinos y orinoco. En la mayor parte de su territorio, el departamento presenta una temperatura promedio de 26°C, una humedad relativa del 95% y una precipitación media anual aproximada de 3000 mm (Espinel & Montenegro1977, IGAC 1993). La diversidad de murciélagos es poco conocida en este departamento. Hasta el momento sólo se cuenta con inventarios locales en la cordillera oriental entre 240 y 1800 msnm (Marin-Vasquez & Aguilar-González 2004) y en la parte E sur de la Serranía de Chiribiquete entre 240 y 800 msnm (Montenegro & Romero 1999). Basados en especímenes depositados en colecciones de museos de Colombia y revisión de la literatura, presentamos la siguiente lista de murciélagos del departamento de Caquetá. Esta lista contiene un total de 105 especies, 31 de las cuales son incluidas como probables de ser encontradas.
