Abstract (en):

La presente lista se elaboró con base en la revisión del material depositado en la colección ictiológica del Instituto de Ciencias Naturales de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia (ICN-MHN), proveniente de muestreos realizados para CARBOCOL / INTERCOR por INTEGRAL (1982), para CARBONES DEL CERREJÓN por INGETEC S. A. (2005) y para INCODER por Unión Temporal Guajira - CORPOBIÓTICA- (2003). Los muestreos realizados por INGETEC y CORPOBIÓTICA abarcaron colectas en 31 diferentes localidades de la cuenca, distribuidas a lo largo del río en un tramo de aproximadamente 230 km, entre el corregimiento de Marocaso a 460 m.s.n.m. y la ciudad de Riohacha, en su desembocadura al mar. En total se examinaron 10,765 individuos correspondientes a 814 lotes catalogados en la colección.
