Illustrated Guide of the genera of the family Staphylinidae (Coleoptera) from Mexico

Abstract (en):

Con más de 47000 especies conocidas a nivel mundial, Staphylinidae se constituye como la segunda familia más diversa dentro del Orden Coleoptera. Principalmente depredadores, los estafilínidos son considerados uno de los componentes más comunes y ecológicamente importantes de la fauna del suelo. Se les encuentra también en una gran diversidad de hábitats, tales como zonas intermareales, hongos, carroña y excremento. Establecen estrechas relaciones con otros organismos como hormigas -llegando incluso a mimetizarlas-, termitas y roedores. Se distribuyen mundialmente y habitan desde los cero metros hasta alturas de más de 4000 m.
