Reservoirs of Eastern Antioquia, Magdalena River Basin (Colombia) represent a decisive role in the departmental and country hydropower development. In addition to energy production, are important areas for local people dedicated to artisanal fishing, as well as an attraction for sport fishing in the region. According to the literature and field data, 15 species of commercial interest were recorded for three reservoirs in this area (San Lorenzo, Playas and Punchiná). The results of this study come from the data generated for one year (December 2012 - November 2013) fisheries monitoring, which is done in the process of formulation and implementation of the Fisheries Management underway in these reservoirs, and funded by Isagen S. A. E.S.P., EPM S. A. E.S.P. and executed by ADOA.

Los embalses del Oriente antioqueño (cuenca del río Magdalena, Colombia), representan un papel determinante en el desarrollo hidroeléctrico departamental y nacional. Además de la producción de energía, constituyen sectores importantes para la población local dedicados a la pesca artesanal, así como un atractivo turístico para la pesca deportiva en la región. De acuerdo con la literatura y datos de campo, se registraron 15 especies de interés pesquero, para tres embalses de esta zona (San Lorenzo, Playas y Punchiná). Los registros de campo, provienen del monitoreo pesquero que se realizó durante un año (diciembre 2012 - noviembre 2013), para el proceso de formulación e implementación del Plan de Ordenación Pesquera que se adelantan en estos cuerpos de agua, financiado por Isagen S. A. E.S.P. y Empresas Públicas de Medellín S. A. E.S.P. y ejecutado por la Asociación de Organizaciones Ambientalistas del Oriente Antioqueño (ADOA).
